It makes me sad when the girls disown “old” writing, as if it has no relevance at all to now.

Last night the daughter explained that she means the way they teach it in high school. Being the vulnerable, paranoid, dysfunctional human girl that I am, I found this to be more reassuring than what might reasonably be considered appropriate.
